Hey just be careful on the thickness of the pads. I went and managed to pick up the thicker set of pads and didnt realise until the car was jacked up last week.

But seems Fl@pper knows his brakes so should be ok.

Telford ay it...
Just looked through a haynes manual and im pretty sure mine has the girling calipers.

Its got ATE standard pads on it at the moment but it would be nice to have abit more bite especially as its going on track. 99p was a lucky find, mega saving there :)

Anyone any idea if EBC supply new guide pin bolts with the pads?

shape looks familiar and part number seems to tie up sweet as

When I was looking at these yesterday I couldn't find a yellow listing for the 8v but could in the 16v. Then I realised the pads where the same, bar thickness sometimes? But EBC only do 16mm thick which is all good for the 8v so I understand.

They should supply a pair of bolts, as vw reccomend that you replace the bolt you remove every time. I think the replacement is only cause the new bolts come pre loctited and that if you loctited your old bolts you wouldnt have any problems.

Might fetch a tub of loctite as a prequation then, seems mad to supply new bolts when a little sachet of loctite is all thats needed. Cheers!

I'm not 100% sure thats the reason jenk, but definately seems like it to me when you look at the torques you tighten them too.

Ordered them! Should be with me tomorrow hopefully, then if I can find my locking wheel nut tool I'll have them fitted for the track action on saturday.
