Just ordered a new leon FR TDI today :funk: I cant wait for it to be delivered! While i was talking to the dealer though, he mentioned that from october the price of the leon will be going up, something to do with how the £ is against the € now. I never asked but i guess it will be the same with the whole of the seat range.

Congrats on the new car. It will be the longest wait of your life, I know it is while I wait for mine.
I got told the same by the dealer as I was paying the deposit, but wasn't sure if he was just telling me to push the sale although I had already signed the order sheet.
The rest of the options on the car seem to be already starting to go up, the media system has already gone up by £115 in the last week, looks like we got in just in time, with that and the VAT hike in October as well. :D

Congrats on your order. I ordered a Cupra at the begining of August and was told this about the increase because of the Euro to Pound. Exspecting mine Early November, when is yours due?

many other manufacturers have increased prices.. was a matter of time.

lol id like to see the government putting vat up to 17.5 % again in october...

VAT is due to revert to 17.5% on December 1st as per the Chancellor when he reduced it to 15%.......as if you can believe anything that clown and his boss tell us

So come December

1. Add a another couple of hundred quid for VAT

2. No Scrappage allowance, as rumours are that it will run out by October. Which is to right as most of the money is going abroad as the government have taxed just about all big car companies out of this country. Says the hipicrate that just traded his old car for two and a bit grand off a new one. :)

3. Add a price hike to car prices due to the falling pound against the Euro.

4. The country is still likely to be in the depths of the recession.

Wow, does anyone see a serious decline in the new car market coming on the horizon?

At the moment they are trying to pinch one from another dealer, so i could have it for the end of next week, but if they cant get one then it will have to be ordered directly from the factory so it will be november too.

I bet you are wishing for next week.
I know Stoke Seat had a Brand new FR TDi in the show room, first week of August. I had a test drive in it before they had put it in there (it only had 7 miles on the clock). When I came back after test driving a Cupra the TDi was washed and in the showroom.

Yep it was the black one. I had arranged for test drive first thing on a Monday morning, and when I turned up was told they had only unloaded it off the transporter on the Friday night. It was nice car to drive, the CR diesel was quiet, I had a good 30 mile drive in it around some good country roads, but after a test in a 08 Cupra round town was impressed with the mpg the cupra gave so went with a cupra.
