What should I expect to pay for a 2-year service on a 2.0 TDI DSG at the main dealer? Just want to know what ball-park I should be so I can decide whether or not I do this or plumb for my usual VAG specialist.

GK in Derby is my closest dealer but I'm not keen on taking it there. I can get to Willoughby's in Notts, the ones in Leek or Stoke, or Ted Johnson's (Barnsley) and Richard Alexander (Huddersfield) are close to family if anyone has a recommendation.

The service manager (Quillen I think) that used to work at Premier Stoke was excellent - does he still work there?

Hmm, my experience with Willoughby's was in buying the car and a couple of warrantly items which was OK. I haven't paid for any service work and it seem's perhaps like I shouldn't.

I think I'll give the Stoke dealer a call and Ted Johnson for a quote. I'd like to take it back to a main dealer whilst the car is in warranty in case anything comes up on the inspection that ought to be replaced FOC which my local specialist might not identify to me unless its safety or likely lead to a mechanical failure of sorts.

Recently had a 20k service at RA's in Hudds (still says Richard Alexander on invoice?) and paid £170, which is steep but it will be my last at dealer as its now out of warranty. :-o

Just had my 20k service - £195 including brake fluid change at David Cook Motors in Oldham. Seemed reasonable to me for a main dealer. They only charge £99 for the minor services.

Did some ringing yesterday and was offered the following:
- GK Derby £240 + £48 for brake fluid change
- Hudds SEAT £217 all-in
- Ted Johnson £203 all-in less 10% SeatCupra.net member discount :)

Guess where I'll be booking in. To add to the best pricing, the lady also seemed the best informed, advising of all service items before I even had to ask, questioned whether it was DSG and advised that the trans. fluid change was not till 40k. Super.

Did you get a quote from Willoughby's just out of interest? ;)

I rang today and was quoted £220. I said I could get it cheaper at another main dealer but no reaction.

All dealers seem insistent on a brake fluid change at 2-years/20k but my service booklet shows 3-years for the first change and then every 2-years thereafter. Thoughts?
