Hottuning / Ta Technix Coilovers - Fitting problems?

antnee, the white springs on post 30, second page, are for the front?

I have TA Technix and they only came with the red springs for the front. After fitting them I got a persistent squeaking sound on the front and my mechanic says the red springs on front are smaller in diameter than they should be. I recon with the white ones the squeaking will be gone.

I asked hottuning_eu from ebay.co.uk and I showed them your post with the white springs and they said "the white ones mentionned on that picture are for the rear.". They confirmed they are selling TA Technix.

for anyone still confused, i took a photo the other day of the cone, bearing and top mount. I replace top mounts and got new bearings because for some reason my car never had any, this is why i had problems in the first place.

LeekFR, did you fit the coilovers like this: top mount - bearing - TA Technix cone - spring - etc ?

You don't have any squeaking sound after this?

Also did you get 2 white springs like antnee said on post 30, second page?

The white springs are deffo for the front, it said so in instructions that someone had (think it was ibiza125). do remember that I have a mk3, although the mk4's shouldn't be that different looking at those pics above of the bearing/topmount

I only got red skinny springs, i have it exactly how it should be, top mount, bearing, cone then spring, it still squeaks, i will do some investigation, but i think the noise will go away after a few hundred miles, we'll see

White and wider, Arnoldo?

LeekFR, I've done more than 5000 km, that's more than 3000 miles, with them and they still squeak. I had them raised all the way as well and the sound is still there. I had them fitted just like you said, the natural way.

Here's the squeaking sound youtube.com/watch?v=8J48W1Omj8k (can't post URLs yet) :). Somebody is pressing down with his hand on the car in the video.

Both have wider springs, not thin ones

what does that mean then? I am thinking APs actutally

What does what mean?

The coilovers (what ever make) should have springs on them which fit into the bearing, if they don't they have the wrong springs. The thin springs as supplied on some TA Technix ones need the use of a top hat cone and different type of bearings to work properly.

I've just sent TA Technix an email asking them to confirm which springs should be used, will let you know when I get a response

Had an email back from them! asking me to write in english instead of using a translator. I C&P what I wrote back into Google translator and it came back with this

I apologize for any mistakes, I am a translator. I am an e-mail on behalf of some of Ibiza 6L owners who are TA Technix coilovers. Many of them were given the wrong feathers.

When I told me (though for 6K2) I have 2 sets of sources in which the white right is required (http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g138/antnee-m/Seat% 20Ibiza/DSC00608.jpg ). Many owners were 6L with the thinner red feathers with a metal cylinder, causing the noise and damage to other components.

Can you confirm it should be used for the Ibiza 6L feathers, and if possible provide a picture

I emailed tuningart.de/SITE/ (still can't post links, yey!) as well and this was the conversation:

me: Do the coilovers for Seat Ibiza MK4 (2002-2008) come with two set of springs for the front? One set wider and one narrow.
TA Technix: You only need spring EVO1030 at the front.

me: Do you have an actual picture of the EVO1030 spring? Is it the white one in this pic i55.photobucket.com/albums/g138/antnee-m/Seat%20Ibiza/DSC00608.jpg ?
TA Technix: Yes ist the white one.

me: Are you sure? That is an Ibiza MK3 kit in the picture.
TA Technix: Yes i am sure.

Ive just put my Ibiza back onto the road and was trying to catch up on the world of the mk4 when I saw this thread.

Ive got hottuning coilovers fitted to my B5.5 Passat and have had no problems at all except for the squeak! That is a common problem on all lowered Passats. Not sure if it would be the same for the Ibizas. Its down to the rubber spring platform cup twisting as you lower. Remove it and replace it untwisted and the squeaking should stop.

No parts needed to be replaced and the kit just slotted straight on. The ride is perfect, much better than my old FK coilovers (even on my 215/35 tyres) and hottunings customer service is was also perfect. (Though I did buy them trade through a friend, maybe they respond quicker to trade customers?).

I was going to buy some for the Ibiza but it seems like a model specific problem so not too sure now.

Im not trying to argue just trying to give the other side of the coin for what its worth! :D
