right i have ordered a patent part face lift bumper... little project for the week.. very excited

just wondering what i need to fit it?

i am ordering the mesh lower grilles and lcr splitter to complete the look.

Having searched i found a few differing answers... so

guide rails?
and wheel cover extender?

are they both necessary?

I think i will also need to look into some side skirts as it may look daft without them has anyone fitted the bumper without sideskirts?

Yes you cant fit it without either

You also need the bolt hole covers, grilles top/bottom and centre and extra screws for the extensions.

Where did you get a pattern part one from? is it fibreglass?

wow now theres a few things i aint got!

lol... looks expensive

Its a plastic jobby wouldn't be touching fiberglass!

its from "imperial" they listed it on ebay...i phoned and they said it will fit with all the seat stuff...

i was going to keep my top grill (the one with seat badge) standard so i guess one of those grilles i dont need...

could you tell me what the cover primed's are for? and where they go?

I would personally change the top grille so it matches the lower grilles

Imperial panels are not to bad fitment wise I used to fit a lot of them at work....I didn't even realised they made bumpers!

The parts are expensive I have the prices I paid last month if you need them [not including the top grilles as my bumper came with them]

Bumper guides £6.35 each + VAT

Wheel covers Are £2.53 each + VAT

Fog covers £5.65 each + VAT

Grille cover £4.52 + VAT

Bolt covers £1.70 each + VAT

For some reason the front bumper parts were not as much as the rears, the rear extensions are £15.79 + VAT each

The door moldings are the killer, fronts are £39.83 each + VAT rears £28.41 + vAT

Hope this helps.

sorry i posted it before refreshing the page hence i edited my post now!

just spoken to seat in aylesbury but im getting strange product codes back but parts seem in order lol

Prices some simular but the bolt covers appear to be 4.52 not 1.70 which seems a bit steep! but still i just asked them to double check before my order! they better fit the patent bumper! lol

Just dropped the bumper off along with the bits n bobs from seat who didnt order my bolt covers! which is a bit of hassle as they wont be sprayed up with the bumper...
gotta get them done seperately now!

unfortunately cant collect bumper till monday/tuesday as i delivered it late friday...

will keep u updated on the fit and hopefully post some pics as i have hit 15 posts...

I decided not to get the top honeycomb effect grill and stick with the old one to make it a bit diff and looks good on the LCR like that.. we shall see!
Also cash flow was getting a little low being a scabby student sticking the old one was cheaper...

I am thinking of buying a cupra badge and putting it on my front grill but i dont know how people attatch these on??? any suggestions?

do you tell insurance about fitting a facelift bumper?

just curious as to the common thought on this as its basically a genuine bumper not a "modifying bumper"

Also what about changing alloys to another set of seat alloys?

or is it just engine modifications that are required for notification?

They will look at anything that has been fitted as a mod as it is non standard and was not on the car when it was new.. :(

I've always agreed with this - but at the same time, wondered how, in the event of a claim, they'd be able to prove it? Or furthermore, if they'd even notice? If it looks standard, and is a genuine part, I suspec they'd struggle to prove it?
