I was wondering if this was possible on a little 1.4
and how i would go about doing this. e.g where to drill etc.

anything is possable!!!

and just buy an induction kit!!!

or if your gonna drill the box just make sure you drill the holes so that the air is still being drawn through the filter.. otherwise you will have unfiltered air going into you inlet.! not good

No point really its a 1.4 and its never going to any faster than it already is... a induction kit would give you some noise but thats it you may aswell use the money to make it look better.

Totally agree.

But if you have your heart set on this you need to drill/cut holes in your airbox on the side that is away from the engine and smooth off any ridges on the inside of the box. This will only give more noise, no performance gains.

Also, before you go chopping it up take the time to think about where you are about to cut LOL.

Imo i wouldnt bother if you want more noise and to free it up a bit make it more rev happy then put a pannel filter in there...

Other than that spend your money else where to make some difference like hids, etc.

Panel filter would be a good option but still pointless you may aswell buy some nice hids like s1l3nc3r said.

Also if you cut holes in your airbox when you come to selling your car you would have to buy a new one depending on who buys it though i guess.
