Hi, ive been searching the forums finding info on lowering my car around 30-40mm 90% of the posts replys are buy coilovers lol i don't really want coilovers as i know there pretty hard and i don't want to lower it alot i read a post saying standard cupra shocks can lower a 1.4 by around 30-40mm is this true? but i also read the front end goes quite high because of the weight differance of the engines does anyone have any pictures of there ibiza 1.4 lowered on cupra shocks?

Also what sort of price should i be paying for a set of cupra shocks and springs?

Thanks

I think its more like 20mm, but you could get some lowering springs to go with them

Hi, iv got cupra suspension on mine, it lowers it by about 20mm as said above, and yeh the front does sit a "tad" higher, its not alot, but its only really noticeable if your looking for it.
So i swapped the cupra springs for some Koni 40mm lowering ones, an now its sitting sweet.

I don't have any photos of it with the konis on as the cars currently in the garage getting a new gearbox.

I would recommend getting some cupra suspension then buying some different springs as the standard 1.4 suspension just is no where near as good at taking corners as the cupra set up.

20mm it is

I had cupra shock and springs. But only used the shocks, and had 40mm lowering springs

oops never noticed you were inquiring about prices aswel. well i bought my car with cupra suspension already on it (thanks to ibiza125) but iv seen full sets being sold on here for about £40 which is a fine price for a used set, so keep an eye out for some on here.

And i got my koni springs for £85 mint condition, (again, thanks to ibiza125) but you can pick up a set of hottuning/g-max/jamex on ebay for the £60-£100 mark. But can't comment on the quality of these.

Is that 1.6 shocks and lowering springs are the 1.6 shocks the same as 1.4 shocks? how long have you had them on?

Theres a few sets of cupra shock spring combos about il keep my eye out i might buy a aftermarket spring shock set but its a 1.4 id rather save the money to make it look better or save for a cupra.

Cupra137 or mat can you post a pic of your ibizas on the 40mm springs please? EDIT: When its had its new gearbox.

Cheers for the replys also :)

mines on the 1.6 sport shocks, the 1.6 are slightly better than the 1.4 imo

iv ownded both cars (wrote the 1.4 off) and had the springs on the standed shocks on that i'd deffo say go for the cupra shocks as on my 1.4 it got abit bouncy after a year and some GOOD after market springs

its fine on the 1.6 atm but im going for some nice uprated shocks soon :)
