See how the part in your hand is on 90'? You need a 90' aerial converter (looks like the part on the end of the cable). You always get one in the box with any new head unit so if you've still got the box have a look for it.

that silver part fits directly into tht does it not?

No. The end that you dont have connected to anything fits into it then the other end fits onto the back of the head unit.

ok break it down to this

A: big silver metal tube
B: blue wire
C: phono type prong

B connects to live feed
A connects to aerial feed coming from car
C connects where?
