Hey guys,

Just wondered what would happen if I got the system from Milltek but had the remap done at a later stage? Would the car still be ok? Also, is it possible to buy just the DPF delete pipe and put a supersprint on it as I just heard what they sound like....very nice!!! :D:D

if you buy the DPF delete pipe and fit it you have to have it remapped straight away to enable the car to be driven. otherwise the car wont drive at all.

as for buying the delete pipe and fitting an aftermarket exhaust. miltek do 2 delete pipes one to fit to a standard exhaust and one for an aftermarket exhaust, whitch ever route you decide to take make sure you purchase the correct delete pipe.

Not correct on both parts. You can drive the car fine with delete pipe and original map. Also the delete pipe is the same, but comes with an adapter kit with differnt flanges to fit after market or the original exhaust.

Splatrat, I'm assuming as the DPF light will be on, the car won't go into regen mode as it senses a fault with the DPF.
Also, can anyone tell me the price for the dpf delete section please? As I think I'm gonna go ahead and do it and post my results on here.

Thanks for your input guys, much appreciated :D

I have drove it with the delete pipe and standerd map. It didnt give me any errors or problems with DPF light. From what im lead to belive via other sources. Just do the same process to get the light off. 4th gear 2000-2200 rpm 10-15 mins.

Also the delete pipe I belive can be got from between £300-£360

An email from Tom at Corten-Miller performance say Milltek no longer supply the DPF delete pipe on it's own as without the re-map can cause engine damage. So I assume they have tested it and found there is a problem, all in I think it's about £1k so I'll have to see, may just get a remap but I want rid of that stupid DPF :(

Thanks anyway guys,

Danny.

Thats a bit strange. I definitly know mapers in N.Ireland that will sell the DPF on its own. I think custom code do it as well. As for damage I have no idea what tests they have complete, or what evidance they have to support this. Are you sure he is not just spinning a line so you buy a map and everything else ?? Have you tried any other dealers

Chris, this is true, he could be doing that but the delete pipe isn't exactly cheap, I'll email another local supplier and see what they say, I can't see how it will damage the engine as it's going to be able to breath better and with the DPF light on, I doubt it will go into regen mode?

Shouldn't even put on the DPF light as the two sensors will not show any differencial between them due the DPF being removed !!

Would there be an issue with Back Pressure and the Turbo ?

I am consdering replacing the most of the exhaust with a custom straight through that a local exhaust manufacturer said he'd bend and shape for me !!

I'l just add the couplings for the sensors myself and put on a tailpipe and run it on a standard map .

As i said i'm just looking into any possible damage to the turbo with Back Pressure issues . You do need some degree of resistance in the exhaust pipe.

A lot of people with the PD130/150 1.9 engine run with a Mufflerectomy, this is where the cat and silencers are removed and the result is a straight through pipe. It sounds cool but makes a little more smoke.

if you think about it chris the DPF light should'nt even come on with the delete pipe fitted, thats the whole reason for it. it's a straight through cat with no inners to filter the soot therefore not clogging the DPF and bringing up DPF fault codes.

so those with the delete pipe should have trouble free driving with the DPF but **** loads of soot in exchange. :D (in theory)

On a MK2 Leon you cannot run a DPF delete pipe unless the ECU s/w is modified and the 5 DPF sensors are "isolated" from the ECU mapping - otherwise you would end up in perminant limp mode!!

Not true. I have ran a few hundred miles with DPF delete pipe in place and standerd software installed. The car ran fine. Not sure on long term effects if any. You do get a warning light as the sensors arnt sure whats going on. But drives fine

That suprises me, I have assumed that the sensor outputs would throw the ECU into limp home mode??!? and therefore give reduced output - does it try and re gen ?

Yeah mate does try to regen. But actually clears it self if you do the normal 2k rpm for few miles. No idea how or why it happens this way. But definitly does. I still wouldnt advise fitting delete pipe and not getting map done. But it would be safe for few hundred miles at lest.

I have been running a delete pipe with standard map for about 2 weeks now. All seems fine and hasnt tried to regen. Even if it did I heard you just do the normal 2k revs thang.

I have a delete pipe for sale if anyones interested at obviously a far cheaper price than the retailers :) PM me
