Cupra K1 experts...

I'm looking at buying a Cupra K1 within the next few weeks, fingers crossed!

Just wondering if any of you know what I should be looking out for, things that are known to break/have hissy fits etc.

I've got an 08 plate and an 09 plate to look at within the next week so any advice would be great.

do a hpi check to make sure its not stolen , there have been numerous stories regarding Cupra K1's being stolen including keys from houses.

Then its just the usual things , make sure the services are up to date , waranty is in tact , not an import , rear tyres are wearing evenly , listen for missfires when the car is idling , ask for a print out of the ecu to make sure there are no engine codes , will show you if the car has a fault or not , its got to come with mats and see if you can get extras like aluminium kit thrown in oh and bluetooth is a must !

Need to serviced every 10,000 miles.

Well Robs had almost every fault so far except for the the Tantrum wipers....LOL

Yes its true i have seen a bit too much of my local dealer who now wont deal with me cause i told them what i thought of them

none I can think of. Common fault can be the engine cover coming loose and damaging a component related to the fuel pump iirc. VAG stance is that its due to owners agressive driving and wheel spin

Truth is its a design flaw.

Hasnt happened to me yet, my cupra has over 6000 miles now.

i had this , it breaks off the fuel pressure sensor , replaced under warranty , fitted brand new pump

I wonder how things would go if someone had a hpfp internals fitted. Probably take them out before hand I take it. Best thing to do is get a intake kit and get rid of the engine cover
