my car has been making a few strange noises since the rebuild, i found out yesterday that the cambelt tensioner has gone, i pick it up in a few hours...... cars are too expensive.
i wont say too much right now but hopefully i can get some money back from the supplier.
Was it a new tensioner?
Is the build run in now, Aaron?

Probee....strange question in the middle of your thread and the answer may lie within so apologies if it does but can I ask what ICE you have in your car. The base and clarity sounded amazing at the nationals when we were packing up, i tried to spy the answer but couldn't see any clues
Hi Dave, It's all a bit of a nightmare right now.. I was very lucky but the tensioner was bad enough for it to skip a tooth
I've done enough miles easily now but im still taking it easy as I now have a slight knock. It's booked in at TotalVAG and I have confidence they will find/sort it.

hehe a few have asked over the years and never believed me...
I have decent 12" kicker (square) sub with a huge Alpine amp. The standard speakers are actually quite good as long as you have a decent headunit. I have the 25th anni Kenwood unit which I love and can be picked up quite cheaply now.

hopefully ill get there in the end buddy, ive been extremely busy at work recently so anything like this is a real pain to get sorted.
wheels should be painted agian this month too.... another thing to arrange

Hi, sorry to jump in but are you the chap I met down at Total VAG a couple of weeks ago getting my tip fitted? If so, hello and was very impressed with the way you have the car set up. I bought boost hoses to match now as yours inspired me and now saving for other bits like the fmic. I Hope Gregg can fix her for you......

ive had a crap time with my car of late.... everything seems to need replacing from the springs (still waiting to here from KW) to the turbo because of compressor surge (could be something else causing the surge but its proving difficult to find if it is)...... ive hardly driven it because i cant be bothered with it right now. the wheels also need another refurb, so hopefully i wont be fighting Perfect paint too much with that too.
on the upside i do have a GT2871 on its way.... its not the root i wanted to go down, i really wanted to be different and use a turbo that hasnt really been thought of (getting a custom mani made is very easy for me) but i want to get the car sorted so i went with the tried and tested..... im sure i wont be disapointed.
as ive just had the engine rebuilt, money is a little tighter. Ill have to wait to replace the clutch (sachs organic and lightweight fly) which means running the new turbo on very low boost until i can justify the outlay or the old clutch fails. hopefully it will all be on for the AMD day so i can get it mapped and run on the rollers there. im hoping to kepe things safe (for the clutch) at around 310/320 to start with.
