Outside Air temperature guage?

Another question from me I am afraid, searching shows up nothing...

In the Seat owners guide it shows an outside air temperature reading on the dashboard, small text just above the clock on the left hand side...

In my car I dont seem to have this luxury... Was it an option? Can it be "turned on" with vagcom?

Its a really useful thing to have.... and would like it in my LCR!

Its on the trip computer thingy that replaces the clock in the rev counter.

If you press up or down on the end of the wiper stalk it will scroll through things like current MPG, fuel left, and the outside temp.

It will automatically default back to the clock though when you start the car.

And if you flick the reset button under the stalk, you switch to the second trip computer. Scroll through to see what the mpg says here vs trip miles for an indication of how hard the car has been driven.

think i also seen 'hours driven on there

Yup :)

Time
Outside Temp
Hours/Minutes driven since engine start (1)
Hours/Minutes driven since trip reset (2)
MPG since engine start (1)
MPG since trip reset (2)
Fuel Remaining
Miles driven since engine start (1)
Miles driven since trip reset (2)

(1) needs two hours at engine of to reset back to zero so lots of short drives will accumulate
(2) Accessed via the short whack of the reset button underneath the stalk

To reset the trip (2), hold down the reset button for a few seconds.

I think that's everything.

two ways for this if it is OEM Aura Radio:-

1, Plug in with Vagcom and draw out the code from the radio.
2, Give one of the dealers the radio chassis/serial number and ask for the code that goes with it.

Dealers may charge for this... As always.
