Done some wiring and feed the vacuum pipe behind the glove box and this is how it stands at the moment...

I am modifying the tray that is under the headunit... but it sits too low so I might have a change of plan...

Some pics of the finished install... opinions? I am happy with the position at the moment, but it is a bit on the low side, so its hard to see the very top of the gauge! Thinking vent mount would be better but it looks a chore getting the vent out and trimming it all down.

Not sure about it being in the little cubby hole, Mike. I thought you were putting it in a DIN blanking plate..

What do you boost to??

The blank DIN I got was a crap fit and didn't look right. Yours looks really good!

why don't you swap the headunit and the tray around so the tray is in the top slot ;)

do agree with Damien though..... not sure it looks good 'wedged' in the tray.....

It looks better in the flesh, believe me! :( I will stick with it for now until I can find a better fitting blank DIN plate or another way to mount it. ;) At least the wiring and the vacuum pipe are in place, that was the biggest chore!

saw some pics of the inside of a car on this forum the other day, they'd blanked off the central top air vents and mounted a gauge in each, looked really good and at eye level for a quick glance when booting it ;)

That does look good! That's what I want, but I don't have the time at the moment to do it! I think getting the vent out is a effort too. If I can cut a piece of plastic so its nice and neat then its possible.

New boost gauge placement

Been away for two weeks in Florida, so no new developments on the FR... until today. I have redone the boost gauge install. The stereo was playing silly buggers too and not switching off but I had a play around this AM and I have sorted it (fuse had gone on the switched live line... must have shorted it :(). Anyway, here are some pics of the DIN blank plate. Its not a very good fit, so I will try and get a better fitting one soon, but it looks better than the cut-out in the original DIN sized slot! The HU has been moved down too. Better?
