Help Required / Noise when ignition is off

Hi everyone, Ive been to look at a 2002 mk3 ibiza cupra and noticed that there was a buzzing noise near the driver side headlight light.This is running all the time even when the ignition is off. May be coming from some sort of small motor/water pump. Can anyone help? is this normal?

Also can anyone tell me when the cambelt is due? its done 48,000 miles. cheers

Perfectly normal... it's a secondary water pump that circulates round the engine.

In fact if it doesn't buzz after the car has been running that's when you have a problem (even if the car has only been on for a min or two)

I taught it was pump for cat, didnt knew they have secondry water pump, Whats life span on these?

waterpump get replaced (well should do) when you have the cambelt done at about 60k as a precaution...

Thats the mechanical one not the electric one.
I could here mine every time i unlock the doors onwards

Yea mine does the same if i put the key in the ignition turn it but dont start the car when i take the key out it comes on still...

does this kick in at a specific temp or is it fed of the ignition switch and if so how long does it run on for

its ignition fed and runs on for a couple of minutes after the ignition is switched off to cool the turbo down like a simple turbo timer
