Same dimensions but billet and poly instead of plastic and rubber, so far more resistant to the torsional forces of the anti-roll bar. VF Engineering say about them:

"All VW type 4 chassis are fitted a pair of drop link arms connecting each end the front roll (sway) bar to the lower wishbone. The drop links give support to the front roll (sway) bar and help stability under cornering. However using a stiffer roll (sway) bar exerts a greater force on the end links. Stiffer suspension and bigger wheels also increase the load transmitted through the links. Hard driving and track use coupled with uprated suspension will quickly deteriorate the original links and rubber inserts. Volkswagen revised the designed of the links twice over the last 3 years and have changed several aspects such as the thickness of the arm, the material of the arm (from metal to composite plastic) and the profile of the loop in which the rubber bush is housed.

To counteract all the additional loads placed on these links by other performance upgrades, hard driving and outdated designs, VF-Engineering chose to design and manufacture replacement links to retrofit to all years. The VF-Engineering link is a complete replacement, made from billet (solid) aluminum fitted with molded, high durometer polyurethane inserts. The body is constructed from billet aluminum. The VF drop link is a direct replacement and fitting should take no more than 30 minutes and fits all VAG Type 4 Chassis: Golf/Jetta 4, Beetle, Bora, Audi A3, and Audi TT.

The key importance in upgrading to our part is that you will benefit from a much stronger design capable of withstanding hard driving and complimenting an upgraded roll (sway) bar. You will be taking advantage of updating to the current design incorporating the latest changes made by VW to the the inner profile of the bush housing. VF has used custom high durometer polyurethane bushes for a stiffer cornering feel. The link arm itself is many times stronger than the OE plastic part.

Means I'd have to change my suspension and ARB as well. No need, nothing has proved the LCR setup to be superior and my car sticks to the road like glue anyway! ;)
Fair doos, thought most Leon aftermarket suspension had the drop link link anyway.

Well I'm pleased to report that the VF drop links have tightened up the front end very nicely, it wasn't loose anyway but things just feel tighter, seems quieter too!

I sold the DV26 atmo valve and went back to the DV30 recirc., didn't have any problems with the DV26 but the DV30 is almost as loud and will keep the fuelling, airflow, etc. all correct for the ECU.

Thought I'd try a different oil catch tank, got one from 034. These come just as empty cans so I used a length of silicone hose inside to extend the outlet down inside the can, then used steel mesh and grill to create a filter that the oil mist and vapours have to pass through before exiting, seems to work well, on first inspection there was residue in the bottom of the can and the intake is clean. I'll take pics of it next time I open it.

I did try it with the small filter on top but it stinks so I re-routed it back to the intake! I used stealth black AN fittings and nitrile reinforced braided hoses.

Quick pic of the SEM manifold with the vacuum connections and resistors on the front (for SAI, N249, N112). You can also see the swirl pot/header tank to the right which meant I could do away with the normal header tank.
