Hi thinking of getting a leon cupra r 1.8t, prob 2001 -2004 reg.
what i would like to know is how the ride is? is it very hard.
I have a 2001 ibiza sport and that bangs over every little mark in the road.
Also what mpg for normal driving?

cheers

I don't think they made the Cupra R in 2001, i'm pretty sure they started in 2002.
Standard ride is ok but you'd be better off getting one with uprated shocks and springs for a better ride.
MPG depends on what sort of journey you drive, i get stuck in traffic for most of my journey to work which takes between 20 and 40 minutes and i get around 260 - 280 miles to a tank.

cheers, 2002 or later car, mostly bumpy b roads, not much traffic
was hoping 30+ mpg.
Is the std ride very harsh?

Not harsh but doesn't handle very well round the corners.
Alot of people manage above 30mpg, i'm just not one of them :D
You should take one for a test drive and see what you think if you're worried about the ride quality.

All depends on what your used to driving IMO, i was driving a modified and lowered celica before my LCR and the ride was very very hard, my LCR is a dream compared to that, haha. Most comfortable car i have ever owned.

driven several lowered mk2 golfs....some very hard and literally a pain after few days.
my 2001 ibiza sport seems very stiff and bangs on every bump, someone said the factory bilstein kit although lower is
actually less crashy.
will test drive a couple next week as i may trade mine in
