not a lot to say.

usual checks for water, oil etc.

Try to wait 20~30 seconds before driving off and after stopping to let oil pressure on turbo stabilise. (lengthens life of turbo)

Other than that service at correct intervals and happy motoring !

Ian:whistle:

p.s what year is it, colour etc etc?

mine is 2004 54 plate, and in red, it has done 75000miles on the clock, with service history so its pretty gd.

However i have discovered something today, i had been given 3 car keys, 2 of them will start the car also open anything apart from the door locks, (unless using the remote) the 3rd key it will only open the door, but will not open anything else e.g. fuel tank caps or start the engine, so JUST the door lock. Anyone else has came across this before??

EDIT: It is a seat car key, it look different, so i think the previous owners has changed the lock ><

Yes, sounds like that lock was changed. Probably some thiefing chav punched the lock in to try and break in!

would it be possible to change the lock back to the same as the car key that would start the engine? in case of anything like remote stopped working, i will still be able to drive the car. rather than carrying 2 car keys at the same time

I honestly don't know! You would have to go through the stealers for this so you might as well ask them. It would probably cost a fair bit too!

Have a word with a decent locksmith.

The one near here once stripped a lock down and re-pinned it so it worked off the same key as all the others the car in question had, so it might be possible they could do this for your car as well. :)

Like I said, speak to a decent locksmith.

If they're anything like the one near here they'll do the above, be that with you removing the lock from the door or them doing it for you.

The main thing you need to initially find out is whether they can re-pin a SEAT lock or not.

I've sort of explained what to do and included the part numbers required on the thread as well. It's very easy to do - remove the old cap, undo the nut, remove the old wiper arm (might be a bit stiff). Put new wiper on, tighten nut back on and place new cap on. The cap might rub slightly against the rear windscreen, in which case a bit of sandpaper rubbing on the bottom of the cap will sort it.

Maintenance on a diesel is just the same as a petrol, still looking out for the same sort of things- water/oil leaks etc. You just need to service a diesel more regularly to keep it running smoothly, and to cut down on smokyness! :D I only know because I have a 1.9 Sportrider lol
