i cant decide on a smooth & progressive or an agressive map,

whats the downsides to agressive besides having to have a clutch . does it put extra wear on anything i,e turbo,

cheers

Aggressive maps cause more tail off at the top end, less traction and more torque steer.

A smooth map done correctly does not mean it will be slower in any way at all. In fact, it should hold power throughout the rev-range much better.

We offer aggressive mapping if the customer wants it, but its not the correct way to tune a car

so a preogressive map would rev all the way ?

im not sure if mine is mapped or chiped , previous owner before last thought it had been chiped due to seat techie said it was quicker than standard , and had ir RR'd at 185hp but lower torque than a std pd150 which got me quizzed it is fast and have seen off others i,e astra sri150 diesel,

it aslo spooled up at ab1500 (since decat its about 1200)

so a smoother map would kick in at what rpm range

cheers

Yes, progressive map revs out much better.

Mapped we see approx 185 - 190hp and 295lbs/ft torque

ahh i will have to see the figures again it was 185 but not that much torque i know RR's are a bit of a lottery
but they could have capped the torque back (from reading many posts about mapps )

so if i have a green panel , miltek decat system, + getting an uprated clutch what am i looking at roughly ,

plus is there other little things i can do to help progress it further , ie cold air feed EGR delete or something

also where to are you based again

cheers

Does it feel any different since the DECAT?
