driving with TCS off

mainly off, but ive got pretty good at turning it off really quickly whilst goin round a roundabouts when i see a car that needs destroying!

frustrating thing at the mo tho is since i have had my ferodos fitted i got the brake pad light come on so i got the dash lit up like a christmas tree, especially when the lights are on and i got full beam on or handbrake on(obviously not at the same time!)

in the wet i wouldnt dare turn it off,since i remapped my lcr the whels spin like mad on damp slippery roads. one good point i find with the traction control (esp) is if you fu*k it up its there to fix it.......

on the other hand if the sun is shineing and the tarmac is hot ,mine is in the off postion?!!!!

as for the st,there is always next time.....


st is a well balanced car....

but the looks of the LCR should put fear into any ST driver........

had mine off today while trying to demonstrate the power of my re-mapped Cupra to someone, silly thing was that the road was wet and I got as unbelievable amount of wheelspin and torque steering! I felt like a right fool but quite satisfied at the same time to have a good amount of power available lol

bridge the 2 brake pad wires together, cut the connector off.... then the warning light will go off mate.

i rarely ever turn mine off, unless im trying to get a quick start from a stand still, or have a little fun on the roundabouts. I dont drive it hard enough very often at all to need tcs turned off. I've crashed a car before due to the lack of tcs, so im happy to leave it on ;)

i had a play last night in the wet i hit a roundabout quite hard with the esp off and could feel the car start to understeer, so i lifted off a little then give it the beans on the exit, done the same thing but with the esp on i could feel it kicking in a little bit earlier but it was on the exit that you could feel the car been held back. so its off for me i like to feel what the car is doing and if that fails I'm sure a hedge will help me out:confused:

I always turn it off. I have found the traction control is a complete waste of time. Slows the car down, cuts in about a second too late and by then i have lifted off to control it anyway so its like putting the brakes on to stop! On the snow and ice its even worse because it isnt smooth enough and makes a big meal of the slightest of slopes. the car understeers out of roundabouts when putting power down but every fwd car does if not smooth with the power
