Yea cheers for that... but isn't it easier to take out just the actuall sensor not the housing aswell (which has been done in the guide).... the only problem is it seems to be held in by screws with a strange head... they aren't torx philips or flat head; any ideas?

just cleaned my AIT sensor it was thifthy! oil all over it, so i looked at the TB also dirty, so i gave it a wipe clean. Not sure if its supposed to gather oil but i guess after 60k its inevitable. The only reason why im cleaning these things is because of poor mpg even when driving like a gran. Could anyone shed some light on my above post thanks

It is so much easier to just buy the correct screwdrive bit and take it out that way - screwfix sell a security bit set for around £3.50. I did mine at the weekend, very quick and easy job!

So if I've got a security torx set (which I have) I can just take the sensor out without taking any pipes off or anything?

Yep - unplug it, undo the two security screws, pull it out, clean. (that bit took about 5 mins).

Then leave it to dry off properly. I was using fair concentrated Iso propyl alcohol so it evaporated off pretty quick. And takes couple of mins to reassemble.

And I'm no dab hand at this - real novice just following guides.
