Forge 007 DV v Bailey DV

I have the bailey DV on my 180 Cupra, Was recomended by John at Bedrock Vee Dubs in Motherwell that this would be the best for my car.

I see that a lot off people on here use the 007DV and was just wondering if this one was better that the bailey one as you do not see them mentioned as much.

Also got my car going in for a full service and getting my Cupra R front splitter put on so looking forward to my car having a new look.

forge would get my vote as it can be easierly serviced. ive run bailey too and works well but i found mine sticking after a years use.

i now run the r1 valve which is diaphram based rather than piston, so should not stick or need servicing.

they are all good valves, forge is more popular but loads run baileys so it should be fine.

If i am being honest, i wanted one for the noise and havent a clue what it is supposed to do.

Cupra's dont take well to blow off valves do they?

i have a forge fitted but wanted to see how baileys would do on my car as been given one but been told not to fit it as it affects the fueling. is this true? thanks

Eh pass as i have never fitted a forge one before. But i never get past 290 miles on a full tank so i dont knoe if that helps.

Just by chance does the Forge make the same noise as the Bailey DV? is it louder or what?

Can't see a DV which either holds on to boost pressure or doesn't can affect fuelling as such (unless the car holds on to so little boost you have no performance).

A DV is a DV. One may outlast the other, and an aftermarket one will enable a modified car to hold it's boost better than on OE DV, but other than that it's basically a glorified release switch. I've put a standard OE revision valve back on my car this month and the performance is as was with the Forge one as far as I can tell.

If you get the spring tension wrong it won't boost as high.
I have never had an EM light with my GFB 50/50 got a turbosmart to try now, we shall see :)

he wasnt asking about 50/50s , i think the op was asking about proper blow offs;)

If you replace a recirc valve with an atmo one then you are letting out air that has allready been meatered and recorded by the ecu, so it's fueling for the aomunt of air it expects to be there, some of which isn't.

Spot on there, with over fueling you tend to get a nice pop and bang :D

You may have problems with unburnt hydrocarbons in the exhaust gas. Runing rich is less damadging to the internals than running lean, I wouldn't expect any long trem engine problems from it but your cat won't thank you (or wouldn't if you had one).
