I am in love with my Leon

Bought a red 08 Leon FR170 last Wednesday and all I can say it what a car! Initially I thought the road noise was a bit too much to handle but this is my first car with wide wheels to be fair. I also got 4 wheel alignment done to the settings I got from another thread on here and it has made an improvment. I put Continental Sports 3s on the front too as the existing ones were really worn in the middle of the tyre.

Initially I didn't think this had made much difference but after a couple of days it does seem a lot better (maybe this is because I am used to it now lol) so much so that the day after I had it done I got up Saturday morning and drove towards my local Seat dealer but turned round as I could hear the improvement.

Anyway, I had it remapped yesterday by Angel tuning, I had used them before on my Megane so I got a returning customer discount. They only charged me £245 and I got an extra 35bhp and 50lb torque.

It wheelspins in second in the dry now, it is quite scary in the low gears but the torque is amazing at motorway speeds.

The handing on the car is amazing too, it is so planted on the road even in the wet. It really does feel like a sports car and is by the far the best car I have ever owned.

Hi

Great to hear your enjoying it!

I've had some problems with tyres etc in the past but did have 4 wheel alignment done so hoping is OK now.

Do you mind if I ask what settings you used for yours? I have print out of mine but can't upload a photo at mo.

Cheers

I printed off the settings NC30Rider posted in the tyre noise thread and gave them to the bloke that did it for me

Just as a bit of info
I have been in contact with NC30Rider, whose settings are spot on and has been very patient and helpful.
But be aware that the settings shown are a mixture of Millimetre and Degree settings.
(the Degrees being shown as decimal Degrees and not whole Degrees/Minutes (i.e. 0.5 decimal = is 30 whole minutes ).

My untrained brain missed this and resulted in the alignment "expert" I used missing it too.
Result being that my car is not set up as I wanted it, which is why I will be on their doorstep in the next hour.

I also went into my local Seat Dealer yesterday and they printed me off the whole setup of everything for my VIN and
5 sheets of Factory Suspension settings for all Leons - top marks to Wills & Ellis of York.

Have also been told front camber is not adjustable.

Conclusion = 4 Wheel Alignment seems a very black art understood by only a few

Are you having to pay again for them to put it right?

Not in my mind, but they don't know I'm coming yet:D
One killer blow will be that the Rear Left Camber was out of Manufacturer Tolerance when I drove away
from them, and I have the print out to prove it :D

To be honest the fitter was being rushed by their receptionist woman as they wanted another vehicle on the kit before they closed.
