you need to drive the car to experience the brakes , they bite hard but they reduce speed very quickly and with ease , i have never driven the car thinking sh*t i must upgrade my brakes , more like these brakes can take a lot more power and easily.

also dont forget the size of the front discs that also helps they are a big step up from lcr discs.

exactly, even performance car mag stated how the revo cupra with 360hp managed fine with the stock brakes. Infact its brakes quicker to a standstill from 100mph than the focus RS with its uprated brakes.

Why is it then that I find the FR brakes totally inadequate at times?

Before anyone urges to tell me that they're not the same brakes, let me remind you of the 160BHP difference between mine and that of the Revo Cupra mentioned a couple of posts ago.

The standard brakes in a C4 VTS 2.0 are far better than mine, both in initial bite and strength.

I thought the FR brakes were very good. I used them on many trackdays before I upgraded.

It doesn't. It does make you reach a corner at higher speeds though. ;)

Dan, what can I say. They're not bad, but I'd like them better, especially on twisty mountain roads. It could be that I'm going too fast. :(

Edit: perhaps it's down to tyres as well, the Exalto II's I've got on are very good allrounders but perfect in nothing.
