Would anyone reccomend this? If it helps with engine longetivity I'm keen to do it

Yes, i've heard it's a worthwhile thing to do for longevity, however I believe Forge have a product in the pipeline, not sure on timescales though.


I've not done it yet but mine hasn't done 10,000miles yet either, but I'll be looking at Forge's product when it arrives.

Thanks mate, some people have bought the kit and used a forge universal tank for aesthetics

Ill keep my eyes peeled for the forge kit, hope its soon as im over due a modding spree!

These engines can suffer badly from build up of deposits on the intake valves.

The good news is if you drive your car hard, the build up should be less.
Tickover is the worst engine speed for deposits forming. Under boost the pcv should be shut and crankcase gases and oil vapours cant get through.
On tickover there is a vacuum in the intake manifold and the crap gets sucked through.

My motor has done 60K and the intake valves were inspected with an endoscope camera recently. All looked good and they were supprisingly clean for the milage.

Stay on boost and your valves will stay clean

How often do you drive your Cupra??

Every day, though I didn't drive it for almost 3 months earlier this year due to a foot injury.

However I don't do mega mileage, and if I did I wouldn't run a Cupra, it would cost too much.

I would of thought if this had been a real issue there would be new revisions from SEAT addressing the problem?
I read the article , but 1 question what ends up in the catch tank is it oil or water or a mixture of both? and what happens with the emmisions if it is deleted? does the car run leaner or richer?

just a few questions i thought didnt really get answered.

Certainly raises an eyebrow this one, especially so that it can occur at relatively small amounts of mileage.

So whats the best method of cleaning the gunky deposits? if fitting an oil catch can system surely the intake system should be checked first and cleaned if neccesary?

Would think would be ok as long as they were emptied and serviced.

For what its worth I swapped my original PCV valve out the other week for a new OEM PCV valve and oil cap and the flat spot I had at 5200rpm previously has been greatly reduced. Having checked the items that came off, I am not sure that there was much wrong with them to be honest, but the new ones seem to have made a difference.

What about setting up a Group Buy on the PCV from Forge?

After all, all us TFSI guys will need it. Let me know how many of you guys would be interested and I will PM M0rk and ask if we can set one up and I will email forge if we get the go ahead from SCN admin.

Not being funny mate , but how do we know the forge is best value for money?
yes it certainly looks a good product , but i would be more interested in pro and cons for each system.
BSH do one similar and i am sure other tuners will join the PCV fix.
