Im trying to take the front bumper off. 4 screws on top of the black panel are off. 4 in each arch are off. Number plate is off. How on earth do you get that black rub strip off?

2 screws under the bumper strip

i have always yanked em out where the number plate recess is as the marks are hidden then

plus if i wrecked it (usually do as the cupra one's painted) a new one isn't too dear anyway iirc

but they are slotted in pretty tight though :):)

Nope your not missing anything mate, once you've got one side off it will come off a piece of cake, then theres just the 2 screws behind it.

So your saying when i get the screwdriver underneath, so I can get abit of leverage, just yank it? Not really wanting to do that unless I really have too? How is that rub strip actually held on?

Pretty much yeah just do it gently if you get me!! You've got to get it off otherwise you won't be getting your bumper off, they are just clipped in but very tightly as you can see.

Yep. Im retarded. Ok. All screws now done. Black rub strip now off. 2 bolts under that now off. Is there a nack to getting the bumper off? Or anymore hidden bolts?

And you didn't trust me:lol:

No real knack no just give it a pull on both sides then you've got to lift it over the bonnet catch, if you haven't removed the centre grill then do it as it makes it easier.

You got the bolts that are hidden in the towing eye covers yet?

Nope, aslong as you've got the 4 in the top, wheel arch ones and the ones behind the bumpstrip,

It's alot easier the second time round trust me!!!

You say that now but i only thought i'd be taking mine off once but it's been off more times than i can remember, don't forget to unlpug your fogs before you get to carried away, you'll be able to get the bumper off but won't be able to move it very far!!

Yeah cheers buddy. I didnt want to make a thread so I did do some research before, but they wasnt all that detailed which is why I got stuck. Passenger side is off and free, but the drivers side still feels quite tight n solid to the car at the mo.. hhmmmm

No worries dude, if all the bolts are out then it should just be a case of pulling it off like the passengers side.
