Hi there

my air con doesn;t work at all even after I have regased it. the comparessor doesn't engaged when I switch the air con on. the garage guys think it could be the pressure switch problems. but they gonna charge me for mroe than £200 and cannot guarantee it will be fixed.

i just wondering can I do it myself? I mean, just buy a pressure switch from ebay and change it myself to see if it works. there are lots of VW pressure switchs but no for Seat, so can I use VW's switch?

and anybody can give me a explanation of how to do it? I have no experience of fix air con myself...

any comments will be appreciated

ps: i got a leon 2002 1.9TDI, the error code is

00792 - A/C Pressure Switch
31-00 - Open or Short to Ground

short to ground could be a dodgy sensor and/or wiring fault

but yes the Vag Group shares parts

safest way is to obtain the part number first and match up from there, genuine parts will have it stamped on it somewhere or cast into etc

Thanks mate!

Do you think there is any special steps when changing the switch? (My understanding is just take the old off and put the new one on, like change a fuse...not sure if it is that simple....)
