Seat Leon rear wiper removal???

Hi I have a Seat Leon 1.6S Mk1 05 plate. I'm having trouble removing the rear wiper arm as it seems to be set in place or maybe someone glued it in place because the damn thing wont budge. Does anyone have any advice as to what to do because this seems harder than it should be as I haven't removed it after 2 long attempts?

I did mine a few weeks ago, wouldn't budge to start so sprayed a load of WD40 on the spindle (without nut on) and left for 10-15 minutes. Then came back and started to wiggle but nothing, so I lifted up the wiper arm and gave it a good wiggle again and it came off. It's all in the wrist

If that fails you can buy a special tool to remove it

Thanks for the suggestions guys. The damn thing still hasn't come off with trying everything said. It's really well stuck and think I'll try a tool on it. Stupid guys at VW where I live said "it should just come straight off, that's weird!"....shows how much they know

Most garages will have a tool.....they can't charge you much as you can buy a new tool for under £10

i had to use a wiper arm removal tool like this one

a mate that works for VW also said it should come off easy.... yeah right!!! i bet behind the closed VW doors they use hydraulic arms to remove them!!!

Thank you again people. My dad used to have a tool like that for pushing brake pistons back, can't find the damn thing now I'm sure I had it somewhere.

Will go to garage tomorrow as the guy there sorted my Leon out with its 18" TT/RS8 wheels and also it's service this year. I need to get some pics up of it really.

Anyone know how you would fit a shark fin aerial too? bit fed up of the huge standard one haha

Yeah the shaft the arm goes onto has twisted teeth on it so when the arm gets bolted on it forms a set of teeth in the arm hole so its gripped by the shaft so when the shaft rotates it has full grip on the arm 2 instead of spinnin in the hole of the arm.

Will the tool work as the washer comes thro the middle of the spindle?

Did this work as I thought they wouldn't due to the washer jet being in the centre??? The alternate is a screwdriver plus a block of wood to stop the window cracking.

Mine was a pain to get off to. No special tools available so a bit of cloth (for protection) and some mulgrips, gave it a dam hard tug and a wiggler (oo err) and it popped off.

just wiggle it! mine was in stiff..iv now put mine back on because its suprising just how much sh1t the back of the leon gathers crap!

done and dusted, easy as you like. took about 15 mins to get it off and a lot of ac-90! by far the hardest part though is gettin the plastic boot panel back on. broke about 3 clips!

bit of a thread revival... but done this today, and over tightened the nut when putting the new fabia arm back on, and snapped it. be gentle unlike me!
