Hi All.

I need to know how to remove the wing mirror covers from my Ibiza. I have tried a search, but not found anything. I thought I read somewhere that it can be changed with out removing the glass, is this true?

Any info would be good, thanks

If it is just the outer cover you want to remove: Fold it, then look for a gap underneath at the hinge point, put a screwdriver in and lever the cover off. It will need quite a pull, the cover is made from ABS plastic so it will flex quite a bit before it breaks.

Thanks for the replys. I have been out and looked, I ended up adjusting the mirror and using a small screwdriver on the clips and mangage to remove the covers without breaking any clips.

Just waiting for the new ones to arrive, but as the car isnt moving for a few days and is in a garage then thought it wouldnt matter. Once new fitted then I feel a wash coming on as its filthy.

Thanks again for your help

What covers have you gone for fella? :) Black? :D

Gone for the FR matt silver style, well thats what I have asked for. They have arrived at Taunton Seat, so will collect them tomorrow and hopefully fit them.

Would like the FR silver rear lights as I think the lighter colour would look ok with the Yellow too, and may see if I can find a little cash for some springs to give it a better look. Cant afford coilovers, so springs would be the start.

Arent Taunton SEAT really expensive compared to SERE motors for example?

DO NOT use a f?cking screw driver. Fold the mirror back and get 2 block buster cards or similiar. Push one of the cards in to the gap where the cover splits at the front, wiggle it in there. Then get the other card and run it along the top of the cover (there should be a gap made by the other card) work the card in there, then just wiggle both of them and it will come free.

the modding has always been in me, but i never seam to keep the car for long, but with a house its all change.

Havent found Taunton too bad, for servicing or parts.

I've heard they were quite expensive! :( I order from SERE motors now anyway as they're much cheaper and deliver to your door. :D
