I bought a spoiler last summer for my Ibiza. The spoiler was £30 new, primed and ready for painting :p. It's not a standard 16v or 8v spoiler, it's an alternative with a built in 3rd brake light *not shown in the pic, but I have it*. Sprayed it tornado red last week, and wondered wether a standard GTi one would look better [B)]. Fits perfectly, need to drill into the boot mind, or tigerseal it. What do you think? I'm pretty tempted to sell it, and buy a 16V spoiler?

Thanks! :)

that spoiler looks ok but the brake light look a bit funny in my opinion, get a 16v spoiler ;)

btw you've done a decent job of spraying that ;)

well thank you Arun! Yeah I agree... I want a 16V ideally. But if I drill holes in the boot - the 16V one uses holes through the windows doesn't it apparently. That's what I saw on a poor buggered Cupra in a scrappy. Holes in the window.

yeah the cupras have holes in the windows, so you have to cut the bolts, and use tigerseal, thats what I did and worked like a dream :)

have a look at my thread, mines a 16v....the 8 v is just a straight standard spoiler and the 16v point out and up, scoops slightly...

think I ought to bolt it in though, through the boot. Don't really believe that glue alone is strong enough imo. I mean - say if it DID fail - then ouch! to the person's windscreen / frontend that's travelling behind me at 70mph, that's all I say lol :)

Mate trust me, if you put tigerseal on generously then it won't come off, once mine was dry I sat on it and bounced up and down, didn't budge lol...

I go a replica 8v spoiler from ebay for 25 quid including postage. Brand new, never been painted or fitted. Came with full instructions and fittings. Its the one I have on my car now.

It is bolted through the bootlid, not the glass. Can get you pictures of the inside of the bootlid if you want.
It aint a perfect colour match but its fairly close. Think with it being white and it being an ABS/Fibre-glass spoiler. Im very happy with it though :D
