thats the way i did it. Makes it a realy neet and tidy instalation, also easier than trying to find room for them. I used sticky pads and cable ties to be sure as you cant check them when theyre down there.

This is a little off topic in regards to the question but its still about HID's

What kind of price am i looking at for a descent kit?

Also how much work is involved in fitting, i hear all this about ballast resistors... what are they for and how big are they?

fit yourself all you do it plug in the ballast and put the bulbs in and find somewhere (not so easy on a diesel no space!) to mount the ballasts. Price think the cheapest in £30 all the way up to hundreds. Personally I steered clear of the cheapo kits and spent £80 had them on nearly 3 years no issues.
