Glowing exhaust manifold!!

Right, the leons been on the rollers today to find an isssue that cudnt be solved.
Whilst looking for the prob (thought to be a collapsing hose) i noticed that the manifold was glowing, and I mean glowing!!!! :(
It had had two fourth gear runs and thats it. Its not as if it had been screwed rround the track or anything.

:wtf: is making it do that??
It would seem that there is something restricting the exhaust gasses.
Is it that or is that the turbo is goosed??
Got no smoke or such like. It does make a screeming sort of noise when under high load and stops boosting momentarily then goes again then stops again etc. But I thought this was gonna be traced back to the n75 or the collapsing pipe (mentioned above)
Now im pretty worried its the turbo.
Cant think why the manifold would glow like it was.

Please help

LCR manifolds do glow TBH. If i've been on in mine on a heavy session and look at the manifold its quite often glowing. Bear in mind the standard mnifold and downpipe are quite restrictive so don't flow the spent gases away as quickly as an uprated one so hence the build up of heat.

If the turbo was on the way wouldn't cause manifold to glow I wouldn't think as the glow is heat and more heat would mean the turbo is worker herder not less.

overfuelling or more likely lack of airflow whilst running under load on the road

Overfuelling would help cool the turbo and mainfold, most tuners of 1.8T will aim for a AFR of around 11.5:1. A lean mix in of around 13+ would start to make things very hot..[:@]

Poor exit flow of the exhaust gases could also make things hot, blocked cats or back box?

ask a few of the kent meet boys glowing turbo's and manifolds were normal

Even without too much hard work??

Am I right in thinking no one thinks that the screeching sound is linked to the turbo?
It comes from the dv area but all hoses and joints look good and the dv is fine.
