Lowering

Hi, i want to lower my leon 1.4, i want to lower it around 30mm, does anyone have any recommendations on any shocks and springs, do i have to get shocks and springs or just springs?
Links would be very helpful, thanks.

first of all mate, why do you want to lower the car? looks or handling performance?

not recommended to use uprated springs with standard shocks tbh, will wear the oem shocks out quickly.

just want to do it for the looks really, but dont want it too low. Im going to get 18 inch alloys aswell so hopefully it will look good, so get the shocks and springs yea?

Thanks for the help mate, you got your car on any of these? Just get my local garage to fit them then as i dont trust myself or any of my mates ha

Oh alrite then, ive got £1300 saved up to spend on my car, getting alloys, springs/shocks, colour coded bumpers.

How much does it cost to get them fitted or you doing it yourself?

Anything up to -40mm is ok on standard shocks, as long as they are in good condition.

hmmmh, you sure lee.....

matched dampers to uprated springs is the best way to go, oem shocks even in good condition will not stand uprated springs for very long, never mind handle shite with them

no real point going half **** on it, youll only end up paying to have the shocks done again anyways
