Cannot control I Pod through stereo

I am just after fitting my in car Aux/ I pod connector. I have the Aura CD Head unit and the i pod uses the CD 6 button. It sounds great however I was expecting to be able to use the fast forward/ rewind/ skip facilities to control the i pod however I still need to change tracks using the i pod.

Any ideas?

Also, when removing the stereo to fit the in car/ Aux connector, I noticed a large silver box which I assume relates to the now redundant CD 6 changer?

From what your saying, I don't think the aura head unit will run all the functions of your iPod,the only way to do this u need to buy iPod ready head unit to use all ipod features make sure you check with seller before buy any headunit for comparability

It doesn't control it, it just uses the changer connection as a means to play it.
I use a connects2.

You havent said what you have fitted, is it an AUX connector or is it an ipod connector?
Who makes it?
What did it claim to do?

You'd need one with a dock connector to be able to control it through the HU. Its possible Seat sell a dension ICE>Link system and you can use Connects 2 personally for the best iPod in car experiance i'd get an alpine unit - i had the same problem when i got my leon keep the original look or get an alpine - went for the alpine in the end and havent regretted it since - it even makes the speakers sound much much better u'll be amazed!
