I know not all of u think it's a good idea but I wanna see for myself if I like it lol, after fitting a dv26 valve (atmospheric not recirc) what's best to use to plug/block the recirc hose? I don't wanna buy through bailey sometiing that I may find in b&q :) so has anyone done this before or got any thoughts?

Im sure you could quickly measure up and make one at work or take to a man in small shed and he would probably do it for next to nothing

I have an old Bailey dv26 and liked the sound it used to make on an old car. From what i'm reading here, i would take off my 007p and put the bailey DV into the hose at the bottom of my 007p and then block off the re-circ hose. I thought atmospheric valve's don't work with VAG engines? If it does work then i might give it a go.

The hose you would block would be the port on the TIP.
Otherwise you would have a preturbo DV and nowhere to release pressure if you block the wrong one

You block the port on the TIP and the pipe from the charge pipe would run into DV, vacuum on top.
I wouldn't do it on mine, recirculation all the way but i would think thats how its done.

Defected!
i ended up using a perfect round piece of wood, its very loud.... maybe slight loss of power, but im not racing so sod it :)

Loss of power, bits of wood
Your LCR has an adaptive ECU and will eventually treat your atmospheric dump valve as a boost leak. It will not be able to sort out your fuel/air properly and will get a massive head ache leading to all sorts of problems. It's nothing to do with people not liking them because they're chavvy or whatever, it just won't work. There are lots of ways to make a 007p sound louder if that's what you really want, induction kit or smoothed and drilled airbox for instance. Some people remove the sound proofing from the bonnet. I really don't like the sound of bits of wood or 'something from B&Q'.

My GFB 50/50 works fine with no fault codes at all.
As do others atmospheric valves.

Surely a 50/50 is not fully atmospheric, it's a splitter. This means you get all the noise of the blow off valve whilst retaining the compatibility with the recirculation requirements of the engine management system.

Yes that's right, but some don't play ball and throw up fault codes.
