Im after a set of HIDs for my 1.4 which is a 2001 model and has single beam headlights with H4 bulbs like so:

DSCF2026-1.jpg

Have done some searching but as most people have double beams they use H7s for dipped and H1s for the main beam.

I just wanted to double check that the kit i require is the H4 Bi-Xenon set which have the high and dipped beam in a single bulb like this one CLICKY

Apologies for a potential repost :ban: but couldn't seem to find a definate answer

Cheers :D

Yeah love the exploited looking workers.
You recon? How come? :(

Its the bulbs moving in and out mate tbh I can't see it giving a good beam patten. If you want better headlights pop into halfords and buy a pair of 100w bulbs uprate the fuses to 10amp all for about £16. Just my 2p worth though its your call mate!

True, it does seem a bit dodgey might get some if i can find a cheaper set, £60 is a bit steep.

Anyone fitted these by any chance?

try these mate, the top one is the one with the sliding mechanism, which works. and the bottom one is the all singing all dancing ones! with 4 ballasts as opposed to 2, so your full beam is a proper HID beam aswell!

they arent the cheapest, but ive seen some shockers of HID kits around!, you pay for what you get.

Ive got a set forsale off my 1.4 ibiza (H4 for both dipped/main) paid £110 for them january! Id sell them for £50 delivered? let me know as i want to buy some new ones becz the cupras are h7s! Pm me!

Nah theyre just the H4 low beam only ones, there no good, i need high beam too.
Usn't it illegal not to have high beam anyway?

You do have high beam but them are just a normal bulb. To be honest I had them on my 1.4 and they were crap. I just kept low beam on all the time as it was worse with high beam and the HID low beam bulbs light scattered high enough to be high beam anyway!!

Pay the money and get both low and high beam. Then if someone flashes you because your low beams too bright, give them some high beam and see how they like that!!

Nah mate ive got the H4's where the bulb incorporates both low and high beam. so i need the Bi-xenon ones which are the same in hid version.

It's a different headlight to your old 1.4's pal. :D

No no I did have H4s on mine.

Just the cheap HID kits you get off ebay give you a dual bulb kit (for high and low beam in one) but only on is HID, the other is your bog standard halogen bulb.

the H4 Hid's singles are HID low beam with a standard halogen high beam and cheaper usually

Bi-Xenon's are actually the same H4 fitting as the older types but with just one element with a moveable 'flap' , a lot more expensive and troublesome i will be honest
