For me I'd say it's a nicety that I'd add after more essential items. Mainly for looks probably! :)

Half of the pipes are not in view for looks, the high temp elbow has silver heat shielding round it and IC pipes are under the engine!
As said i have done my piping for reliability and durability, when running higher boost and putting components under more strain i dont want to go looking leaks and failures at all if possible.
But agreeing on the fact that it adds some colour to the bay, jazz it up you might say

Good to get that far, but for the OP there's so many other better things that can be done before uprating every hose in the engine bay. The TIP is good to replace due to collapsing issues, but the others are only for future leaks etc. Better to do full exhaust, suspension etc before hoses. IMHO of course...

I would say the high temp elbow from forge is quite a good investment same as a TIP.
Both have been known to fail and easily replaceable by DIY, its about 50 quid delivered so not going to break the bank.
Vacuum piping is cheap too, between 5-10 quid depending on size for 3 metre length
But i accept the fact that after these better use of money on mods than just purely hoses

On that principle you would wait for TIP to collapse and DV diaphragm to split, etc.
Elbow is less than half the price of TIP too

But on the flip side you could replace every component in your car with better ones too :)

TIP collapsing at high revs may be occuring and causing low top end power, but there wouldn't be any splits etc to show for it, so I'd say that is on a par with the dv for a stage 1 map.

If the elbow blows off (unlikely) then just get some better jubilee's?

The pipes are easier to do financially as they are relatively cheap, where as the suspension and exhaust are nearly £2000, i buy one or two a month, and it keeps me busy while i save for the bigger items.:D
Plus i enjoy doing my engine bay.:D

I agree with phill its easier and cheaper to do bit now and then than buying exhaust for about a grand.
The elbow will not blow off the material cracks causing splits from constant heating then cooling
