I dont think 400hp is too much of a problem in these cars. Its not like the throttle is on or off.

Dan I think that it pretty much is on/off. The power is immense and comes quickly. In UK, roads are very good and the tarmac offers good grip but I doubt if the car can handle very well on wet or on roads with not so good tarmac. We may like to think that the car is good with 400bhp on front wheels but are we honest? I believe that even with an LSD 350-400 bhp is too much for a FWD. My cupra delivers 370bhp but I know that it is not handling very well. Especially in a country like Greece where roads are slippery as hell the car behaves like skidding on ice. When the boost kicks in with ESP off the front wheels are "dead" - the car just goes straight. I am thinking that all of us that pushed our cars above 300 bhp we need to find a way to put the power on the tarmac and make the car more maneuverable under pressure. I don't think that the guys from Ford were idiots when they designed the new RS. RS' 300 bhp are good as long as you use an LSD, which they used and they put much thought on how to handle that power through the front wheels. Likewise we may need to put more thought on how to make Cupra handle that power better.

Indeed. Infact, Ford Motorsport didn't just install an off-the-shelf LSD (they did that with the first Focus RS); instead, they went as far as building a front axle system similar to that of the WRC car (RevoKnuckle) to help overcome the power problem.

From what I've been reading so far, they've done pretty well. :)

I'm waiting to see what the Scirocco R will be like, with 265BHP on the front wheels.
