I know this may be a popular topic but I am possibly swapping my 150TDI for a LCR.

I am currently getting 5-550 miles to a tank, filling every 2 weeks (!!)

SO what does everybody get?

Driving like a maniac = ?
Driving like a granny all week = ?

THANKS :D:p

the problem comparing the petrol and diesels is where you'll be driving.

on the run the petrol do fairly well, however the diesel does better.

around town/stuck in traffic the petrol does poorly but the diesel does ALOT better.

as olliep says if he's REALLY careful he can hit 40mpg. you wouldn't even need to try with a diesel. since gettin a hybrid on mine its piss easy to hit 50mpg while still giving it some

hard to comment really mate, you got to think, you'd be potentially going from a 150bhp diesel, to a 225bhp petrol.. My bro in law (R-Power) did exactly the same as you. staright swap for a LCR 225. he had the 150bhp Leon with the Cupra full Kit inc wheels. Dont be expecting 550miles from a tank by any means. If you're hot on mpg stick with the TDI. but if your looking for overall power and not too fussed about mpg then LCR all the way!!! My bro in law never looked back.

My LCR does about 300 - 320 max to a tank and thats at 70 - 75mph. anything over 80mph in a LCR and you'll SEE the needle move lol.

hope this helps

cheers

cheers vin,

i was never into MPG but since having the tdi its incredible.

went from petrol cars filling up every week £50 a time, to filling up once every 2 weeks so its a real money saver!

always wanted a LCR so im torn..................

no probs Matt,

I was like you before, I had the anni mk4 golf 1.8T and i swapped it for the anni mk4 TDI... I wasnt hot on mpg but after owning the TDI anni golf, it was AMAZING!! I had so much torque and even when floored, i was still getting 35+ mpg. youll never see that in a LCR, you get abt 20mpg when booting it around lol, but it is PURE funn, the LCRs power delivery is totally different, power all through the range, whereas the TDI runs out of puff after 4k, but the choice ...... is yours

i do a lot of motorway driving about 300 plus miles a week an i get from 24 lowest to 32 highest an thats going around 80-90. town driving i see 24-26. best ive got on motorway was 34 but thats was due to traffic. i gone stage 2 now an mapped out lamber sensor an on way drive back from amd i seen 31... best in a while.

You have to work to get it that low but its possible, oh and fun:)

Stick with the TDI and get the LCR when you can afford £3,000 worth of mods, lol

Or buy Willie's when he's finished his handling-machine is a few years time :)

I'm still waiting for him to tell us he's decided, at last, that he needs more power ;)
