frond window wipers overshooting

my drivers side wiper wipes too far when wiping and actually hits the pillar. seems to be parked in the right place when not on but still hits. any ideas?

have tried search on here to no avail.

Two possibilties, first - are you using the correct wiper blades - driver's side should be straight and the passenger's side should be curved, second - your two bits of linkage (wiper rods) could be worn - they cost just over £11 each including VAT. As far as I can make out, the driver's side "wiper rod" can suffer from rain water running down and rusting the free-running swivel causing it to stiffen up > wear the nylon cup > break free!
