not rare. very common.

I had a 1.4 .cool/s. ran 61.6 on Rolling Road

no mods really. Exhaust if you want to sound nice. Induction kit will fail due to heat soak. Maybe put a green panel filter in the air box, and possible smooth the air box.

That's about it performance wise TBH! unless you fit a 50shot of NOS :D

ooo rite, thts disappointin.. I did a bit of DIY job on the induction kit tbh, went down scrap yard and got some of them hot air pipes and bought a cheap air filter and added on with a home made cold air feed.. looks pretty secure tho..

think thatll do anything?

all 1.4 owners on here would like a cupra but do for one reason or antother (insurance[:@]) well just have to wait but you know it will be even better when you finally get your hands on one :)
and i'd just by the car i wouldnt do a engine transplant its not worth the money you'd spend

yeahh im looking into both ways of doing it, the cupra's were onli £700 mor then mine, and ive spent half that on my alloys lol..

will probs just pursue this one have bit of fun with it,till ive got the cash, or mor realistically till it breaks ( which seems to be common in 1.4s)

from reading on here there doesnt seem to be that many problems with the 1.4 that people don't have on a cupra, and iv nearly relly herd of one just giving up the gosht tbh so i think it'll last longer than you expect

yeah, but the social groups are there to replace threads like that ;)

Be thankful it's still there and not purged

Suprised it hasn't been purged to be honest.

I know why it was closed, and I think its good that we have a system in place that means the main forum does not get clogged up. It's just a pity there are no email notifications for the social groups.

I suppose the other reason its very quite is because all the main non-cupra owners have moved on to other cars.

I didn't even know there was a non cupra social group till yesterday, i think if it was to work it could do with being made more obvious imo
