cupraajy - no worries, i'm about 95% sure its the pump as they can just go at any time really. crap plastic things

alex - yeah like i said, yours is about 99% likely to be water pump if not 100%. £295 isnt bad price for the work, as parts alone are around £150 from stealers.

hope my previous experience has helped the 2 of you :)

Thanks for ur advice! i know that 40K is only a guide u should go by! going to get a price for the kit at lunchtime!

£295 isnt a bad price at all for a specialist! i was qouted more from a local garage!

Unlucky mate, was hoping you'd get away with the thermo.
At least theyve identified the problem.
Sounds like I did get a good price, its a shame your not closer, you going to take it to Seat? Make sure they replace the pump for one with a metal impeller instead of the crappy plastic one.

I dropped mine off at awesome last night, what a palava, its 10 miles from my house!
My mate turned up to give me a tow, managed to get about 5 miles then the hitch snapped, so called green flag, who told me they would have someone out within the hour.. didnt turn up. So had to risk it and stop every 4 minutes for the last 5 miles. It took forever.

Well we are assuming that its the pump.....but going to TRY and get it booked into a garage tonight! im going to get all the parts today from the stealers and pay the garage to fit them....well thats the plan anyway! lol

I was just away to ask how you got the car to the garage.....im really not wanting to risk driving it!

Thats what I would do If I was taking it somewhere that wasn't a dealership/ specialist, just to make sure they weren't skimping on cheap replica parts.

Its all just hassle though isnt it, Id just got the car back for 2 days from the bodyshop.. it was away for two weeks!..

Well, atleast I got 2 days driving out of it

Well let me know how u get on with ur car when u get it back! hopefully it will all be fine!
