what are the advantages of uprated engine mounts apart from less engine movement!!!

Not really. Smoother idle maybe, the vibrations through the car that is, not the actual revs.

Think about it, they were made for 156-180hp, not 300+ like your running?

How is it gonna smooth the idle?

It'll make your car rattle like hell, but yeah the main reason is to stop engine movement which can lead to other things like killed shafts and cv's etc..

i just changed them today took me 5 hours to do all three with just a trolly jack!!

Sorry Phil I was under the impression it would absord the vibrations more. Must be that there very stiff and that way keep engine movement down.

lol no was sunny though,just had abit of trouble with the gearbox one had to take the mount off the engine to slide it out but am happy with the results, just the clutch to do now is it possible to do it with the engine in????

about time you got some engine mounts sorted, they feel so much better than the standard shite!

firmer mounts will make the car and gearchange feel "tighter" as there is a lot of slop in the std mounts on modded motors.. downpipe and exhaust will thank you for it also, as less movement is less stress on them.

FR mounts dont make the car vibrate like hell at all, a small tickle on idle rpms can bump any small resonance away if req'd
