Iphone 3g echo and Ipod not charging

Hoping for some help for a newbie. Have been searching for a solution to the poor sound quality I (and 1000s of other iphone 3g bluetooth users) experience with my Seat FR in built car kit - most calls I make I can hear the caller fine, but they cannot hear me. It's either very poor sound quality or intermittent breaking-up. I am pretty sure it's the iphone 3g's problem and am hoping a new software version in Summer will overcome it but wondered if anyone had found a solution for the Seat.

Secondly, I have an underseat ipod connection and it will not charge my ipod nano - surely it should? Any help appreciated.

Thanks for any light you experts can shed!!

P.S. Have just spotted the iphone 3g doesn't appear in the STICKY re bluetooth compatibility - still, any advice???

Also have a iphone 3g and not really had any problems with my bluetooth. no one has ever said the call quality is bad although i've never heard it myself.

As for your ipod, the seat ipod connector charges over firewire which is something apple has dropped with all of their recent ipods and the iphone 3g. They now only charge over USB. You'll also find a lot of the older 3rd party stuff doesn't charge the new ipods.

Hi,

I had a 2nd gen nano that i could control and charge through my ipod connection, then i got an iphone 3gs and it would play through the connection but said charging is not supported. I bought this to solve the problem:

Hope this helps.

People said the voice quality was poor on mine as well. I think it is a mix between the iphone and O2. People would also complain when not using the bluetooth as well. Anyway I hated O2 so much with the shitty voice quality (on 2g) i cancelled my account and I am now back on Orange. Everybody is clear as a bell now and no complaints. Orange is like a landline in comparison to O2.

I would have stayed with Orange if I could have done. That said, I've had no complaints about call quality since switching to O2 with my iPhone 3GS. O2 seem to have had umpteen problems with their network recently - disconnecting roaming customers, losing mobile internet connectivity etc - doesn't inspire confidence!

Except for the problem with my phone disconnecting from the Bluetooth kit apparently at random (see the other recently thread on the topic) it works well. Calls are clear to me and generally OK at the other end too.

I've noticed that the caller doesn't hear me very well if I have the sunroof open, but that's to be expected given that the microphone is in the interior light cluster somewhere, directly adjacent to the sunroof. (The voice control 'lady' also has trouble understanding me with the sunroof open - if I had a penny for every time she's heard "star four" instead of "store"!)
