Penny says the 265bhp version listed above will be badged as a Bocenagra possibly with an S3 intercooler, possibly some tasty brakes, different wheels, red stitching (good spot Scott) etc etc. Lets just hope they dont ruin it by adding the Aero kit to it......

Secrecy sucks IMO. Wish they would just tell their potential customers whats coming. I have been looking at Evo X's in the mean time and they are a much nicer place to be

Make sure you get a good deal on a fuel can with the Evo, my brother gets 18/19 mpg on steady runs

dont like the dials on the dash , dark and dingy , gear lever looks better to me , the engine doesnt look true tsi to me , if you compare it to the sciroco engine and covers it looks totaly different , so maybe just a few upgrades.

maybe the Cupra will be a slightly detuned version of the Cupra we have now and the 265bhp version will be the same as we have now?
tbh i wouldnt see where they we be going with a 25bhp different model?

That's because it isn't a TSI engine. But SEAT have pretty much called it a TSI from early 2008 anyway, even though it's the same 240PS TFSI powerplant they have always used.

Ibiza Bocanegra is being offered with 150PS and 180PS versions of the same 1.4 TSI engine. So doesn't take a big stretch of the imagination to consider the possibility of a Bocanegra Leon with a bit more power.

Sadly a necessity in business to stop the other guy stealing your ideas and undercutting your products.

Also if a company is forever revealing what it's got coming out in 12 months time or longer no one would ever buy anything.

Probably just look like it's got a car bra!

265bhp version would have the bigger S3 intercooler - maybe a new style bumper needed? Or do they fit okay behind the existing ones?

Not sure I agree with that Mark. Look at the Focus RS - what they ended up with was a waiting list, even in a recession.

I am all set to sell my car and was all up for buying a facelift Cupra, but the "possibility" of this model is making me think twice. Rather than wait for it, I may well stray elsewhere.....

Not to mention a £25k plus asking price don't forget, and if the dealers give any meaningful discounts on a car that has a waiting list I would be very surprised.

But as I've said before the Ford has such a huge fanatical following they could do almost anything within reason and it would of had a waiting list.

It's all too easy to forget as fans of the brand that SEAT still have a very small market share and have to protect that market share in increasingly difficult market conditions.

My god they really are blink and you'd miss them changes aren't they? I'm inclined to agree about the mirrors they look a bit big, but having missed people in the blind spot once or twice it might not be such a bad thing, I also think that in general it seems that wing mirrors seem to be getting bigger on cars perhaps there has been a legislation change or something?

They're making the mirrors bigger so that people will spend more money and spec them with folding mirrors.

Get the evo mate, Cupra is nice and all but a fq360 i just a much quicker point to point car.

Will trade my cupra in for one as soon as I can insure a evo for a reasonable figure.

I think you will wait a while for an Evo X to get down to Cupra money. The 08 plate car I sat in was an FQ300 model with 8000 miles and £25k at the local Mitsubishi Stealer.

Get an import, Mitsu UK get them into the country for like 18k. Or atleast they did before the credito crunch.

The evo has got pricey over the years, taking away some of the performance bargain you get with the car but then the X has grown up a bit.

I would be sitting in a evo x right now if it wasnt for insurance. Two years from now and im sure I will have my evo or a audi rs.

Evo X prices are holding up pretty well at the moment. There don't seem to be lots around 2nd hand....mostly SST 300's which are questionable if you modify them and Mitsubishi have increased new prices twice in the past few months. I don't think any imports are coming in at the moment because of the c*** exchange rate verses the Yen. Motorway fuel economy is noticeably better with the X....with a remap mid 20's if you take it easy(ish). Obviously this falls dramatically if you enjoy the car on the A and B roads or track

I've just been down to my local dealers where they've got a pair of FRs in black and white and I have to say they look very nice. So nice that I may have to order one... Oops!
