Oil light on,oil level ok

hi just wondering if anybody has any idea what our problem could be,the car is an 04 cupra and only done 29000 miles,could do with a service oil seems a bit thick.red light comes on and flashes.....thanks::

oil pressure possibly?

Orange/amber light is for oil level and red light is for oil pressure, its in the manual, i would get this checked ASAP as you could damage your engine, your sure it definetly the oil light?

I have had this problem and it was the oil strainer in the sump that was blocked, apparently all of the 1.8 turbo engines are bad for it, either that or could be a faulty switch but i would drop the sump and have a look at the strainer.
