Hi all,

I have a 2007 Leon Fr and I went to my local dealer to order the Ipod option this morning and they asked me if I had the aux connection in my car which I have, he then told me that I cant have it? I was under the impression that I will loose the option to use the aux socket but I could still have the ipod connection fitted?

Can anyone confirm this for me?

Cheers

I thought the leons had an aux port as standard?
If not does the cupra? I have a cupra with the ipod connection do i have an aux port and the ipod connection then? (for when using another mp3 player other than ipod)

I have fitted the Ipod link but haven't got my ipiod with me at the min. I have a question though. How do I select it on the sat nav headunit as cd is the maps cd and I don't have a cd changer button or do i? Or is it simply aux on the headunit?

Cheers

Hi, Simon or Irfan

I am trying also to get an ipod connection; however the dealer told me exactly the same that I can not have it because I have the aux input,

Can you please let me know which is the aux connection in the back of the heat unit? I would like to do the same as you,

Luis

Hi all, :D
I'm a new member with a question regarding an addition of an ipod connection to my leon.
My Leon Sport ('06) does not come with a standard AUX input as the new FR models do.
The car came with a factory Sat Nav module with multi - disc player instead of standard radio player.
I took my car to Letchworth SEAT today to have a Dension Gateway 100 ipod system fitted to it.
They have now phoned me to tell me that you cannot fit an ipod system to the sat nav system in the car and that there is nothing they can do! - HELP.
Any ideas? I would be really greatful for some informed advice!

This is dealers jobsworth imo!

You can retrofit but loose the AUX function in the central console (If you want both you need some custom switching unit as they both fire through the headunit on the AUX, something that give priority for one over other).

Also be aware that the ipod connector from SEAT has limited functionality through the standard headunit / MFD.

ie) you wont get full functionality, track names, options to search etc. I'll see if I can find the post with the details on it somewhere as I had considered this also but at the end of the day what it offered over plugging in via the AUX port and having the ipod at my disposal in the cup holders didnt warrnaty the money for me.

Secondly, Irfan may know, On my old FR I had the drop down section under the passenger seat and all the sections / moulding etc fot the Ipod connection albeit not fitted.

However on my Cupra the sections under the seats are solid, non-drop down plastic units, so I guess you may need to modify this aswell if this is indeed where you plan to put your Ipod?

oops just noticed you have factory Sat Nav and not standard headunit in which case you may have more functionality for the ipod through the display

Even if you have the latest MFD3/RNS510 SatNav unit, you get no extra functionality using the standard factory fit ipod connector, it's still treated like a CD changer, so 6 playlists and no info shown on either SatNav headunit or the MFD Display.

To get any extra functionality with the SatNav unit you need the MDI unit as posted in my previous post :)
