leon fr 2.0tfsi remap 245bhp

Hi, just ordered my new leon fr tsfi. got a company over here in northern ireland that ive used before on my previous diesel who, i have to say, were really good. They can give me 245 with just a remap, or approx 280 with a milltek system. they want £250 for just the remap, but £1,100 for buying+ fitting the milltek system and the remap. I know the £250 is good, compared to some of the prices ive seen on here for remaps, but what about the cost for the exhaust and map?
Also, my last car (typical renaults) had lots of electrical problems etc, was never out of the dealers, and they never had a clue about the map, so my warrenty was never questioned. Being realistic, will a seat dealer be any different? I mean whats the chances of them looking for just a remap?
On the other hand, they're not stupid, if i get the exhaust, they'll probably get a little suspicious about whether or not i got it mapped too.
So, any opinions would be good....
the only warrenty to be effected would be the engine and exhaust i take it... anyone know of any problems occuring with these fron remaps+ exhausts?
being a vag engine, i assume it'll be pretty bulletproof

well if you're looking at 245bhp with the map then adding a milltek or any other performance exhaust will not bring you to anywhere near 280bhp...if you're lucky you might get an extra15bhp somewhere int the rev range.

So maybe 260bhp.

The map seems a reasonable price. If it's just performance you want then I'd get this on it's own. If you want a different exhaust sound change it. The downpipe and race cat is where most the cost is. For sound just go for the cat back and save yourself a good few quid!

Just depends if you want to spend £1,100 for 15bhp performance...

maybe not, but it may be a different map to take the exhaust into account.

Hey, also. i know my seat warranty on the exhaust would be void if i fitted a milltek system, but dont milltek cover their own systems with a life-time warranty of the car? so then if anything went wrong due to their exhaust would it be up to them to fix it? and if so, then why worry about the seat warranty on it all? is that right?

To get 280bhp on that car, you are gonna need the following;

Uprated Mechanical Fuel Pump
Uprated Air Intake (not just uprated panel filter)
Uprated Intercooler
Uprated turbo back exhaust
Uprated software to take advantage of the modifications noted above. The likes of Revo Stage 2+ would be ideal. A generic remap alone will only work with stock parts, so any bolt ons you add will not be effectively utilised.

There are several Golf GTi's, Octavia VRS TFSI', A3 2.0T's and Leon FR TFSI's running at 280bhp and some a little more.

trust me, get the exhaust and map and take it to the rollers you won't be seeing 280bhp...

as above you need an extensive amount of mods and money to be running 280bhp + with the standard K03 turbo.

Yep spot on. I needed all that and now have 288bhp.

ive been checkin out the forge stuff for the tfsi. bought 'redline' magazine a few months back on a trip to dublin, and they had their new sorroico on it which has som pretty nice mods. was thinkin about their twintercooler, and they have this air intake system that replaces the standard airbox completely, it looks pretty nice under the bonnet, lots of shinny aluminium. the twintercooler is about £400-500 i think, and the air intake is about £250 i think, was thinking them with a turbo-back milltek exhaust and a remap to make them all work. thing is, its all gonna cost, and also with not wanting to lose the warranty...but then it may actually take me about 3 years to save for it all- so is it a bad idea to start doin thisto a year old car wih prob 40,000 on the clock?
also, whats all this about fuel pumps? why do i need one of those, and who does them?

Rolling road lottery. To get that kind of power, you are going to need higher boost. To run higher boost safely, you are going to need more fuel as the stock fuel pump cannot cope with higher demand, and as such retards things to keep everything safe. On top, the stock intercooler while being pretty efficient, will see inlet temps way over 30-40oC at this time of year. The 20%+ reduction in inlet temps from an uprated intercooler helps with power, and a nice efficient throughput of air courtesy of a decent intake will ensure there is enough air to satisfy the mixture which will be controlled by a mapped ECU to take advantage of all of the above as well as a decent turbo back exhaust.

Looks like you are chasing a number. Why not change your order to a Cupra and just remap to easily see 300bhp? :confused:. By the time you add all those parts to the FR, you would be cheaper off with the remapped Cupra to attain your figure of 280bhp.

"Cheap" remaps are not the wisest move in my opinion. There is no way I would entrust a new car with some unknown software. Spend a bit more to have software others on here have tried, tested and rave about. There are quite a few to choose from and some which can be totally removed, others which can be adjusted/switched off, and several which do not affect the flash count. Ask your cheap remap guy if his does any of this and if it has actually been properly tested on an FR TFSi Leon ;)

nice one horace, thanks a lot. wont go for a cupra, cause most insurance companies wont even quote me for insurance on it, keep getting the 'you have to be 27' bull, maybe you guys get it cheaper or easier on the mainland, but in N.Ireland its a bit of a nightmare. yeah ill ask him about just the standard remap then, i mean 245ish hp is still gonna be plenty im sure. he did do my last car though, and i couldnt be happier with it for what it is. still it was only 165 in the end, so jumpin from that in a diesel to 240 odd in a petrol should still be a lot of fun

ok, so what about an induction kit then for the fr tfsi? any good recommendations? i do like the look of the forge one for the tfsi. any one else got any good ones? also, whats a realistic figure for any potential gains? and i know it makes the dear warranty void on any issues arrising from the air intake, but does anybody of know of any problems arrising from this, i mean surely these produts are pretty effective at keeping the air clean anyway?

I've been running an EVOM's air intake the last 20k or so with no problems.
