ABS and Traction control lights on after remap

Hi All,

I had my custom remap this week and the day after i noticed the ABS kicking in at very low speeds but no light coming on. Was going to check the sensors next week, and hoped it may stop doing it in the mean time (wishful thinking!). Then this evening, both the ABS and traction control light came on on the dash and won't go off.

Anyone have any thoughts? you think it's coincidental that it only started recently after the remap?

Cheers in advance

Traction control comes on with MAF failure, not had with with ABS as well though. I would say its an ABS sensor that's gone pop. Get it on Vagcom and you'll know for sure.

just wondering, when I put my foot down, i get this annoying beep 3 times and the (!) sign is shown, i thought it was the traction control but even with that turned off, it still comes on! could that be a dodgy sensor or is that standard?

Check your fluid levels, especially brake fluid & coolant - could well be that it's low and under acceleration it's moving enough for the level sensor to trigger.

Hmm, don't have access to Vagcom sadly. So you think if it's an ABS sensor it may trigger both lights and not a result of the remap?

If both lights come on, it's an ABS fault.

The light won't come on when ABS kicks in but it seems a sensor isn't working correctly which is why it's cutting in at low speeds. As already said, check brake fluid level as this would cause the handbrake light (!) to come on and I wouldn't drive it anywhere if it is low!

Most of this info is in the manual ;)
