I've had no luck finding this block that fits onto the post-cat lambda sensor when a decat has been fitted. I've got the car booked in for a custom remap which will remove the sensor from the ECU but can anyone direct me to this separating block for the time being?

Thanks
Dan

Is it this type of thing, to space the 2nd lambda out of the flow of exhaust gas?

This is the one I used, do a search on vwvortex for "Wayne angle block"

it is supposed to block the direct flow of gases but because i have the sport cat and cc phase 2 i dont need it anymore and havnt used it. its brand new. alot of people have used it with no problems, no engine check light. my car didnt run right with the decat so i put the sport cat in, it actually fely alot slower and held back alot in third and 4th. when you didnt use the full rev range in 1st and 2nd through the gears. i payed £ 18 delivered. so im looking for around £ 15. alot of people use it on vw vortex and rate it,not many of them about tho

So if the sensor is meant to be in the middle of the cat, won't removing it from the decat still give it the wrong signals?

Will it cure my overfuelling caused by my sensor being in the decat atm?

Thanks

the sensor doesnt go in the middle of the cat.

the first sensor goes before the cat, mines in the downpipe, then the gases flow through the cat which go through a chemical change to lower the harmfull emisions (or something like that)!! and then the gases flow out of the cat nice and clean and past the sensor which checks that they are different than they was at the first sensor. obviously no cat means the same gases are detected at both sensors so it throws up the engine management light. im pretty sure this affects the mixture because it probably adjusts fuel to try and change the gases as its confused. (this is my understanding, not the most technical but its somewhere along these lines)

using the angle sensor mod takes the sensor out the direct flow of the gases and not as much gas reaches the second sensor as its shrouded by this angle block, so it detects less gases and thinks the cat is doing its job. id say it would help your fueling problem if it IS caused by the decat and you never had this problem before. personally id remove the decat and weld in a sports cat, easy to do and then you wont have this problem, your car is probably running worse with the decat because the fueling is all messed up, mine run like crap

also if you fit the angle block sensor mod, you may have fault codes stored in the ecu from the lambda sensor detecting incorect signals so get the fault codes cleared before you expect it to run right as sometimes they still think there is a fault a run in a sort of safe mode limiting the car.

Yeah it is overfuelling because of the decat, but isn't the angle block meant to cure that? If so, why didn't you just use the block instead of fitting a sports cat to cure it? Or did it run poor even with the spacer in?

And yeah I've got vag com mate.

i have a wayne angle block if you want to buy it?

Hi mate,

Did you ever sell this?

I'm getting a CEL code up 16804/90420 - 35-00 " Catalyst System; Bank 1: Efficiency Below Threshold.

I've had my blueflame turbo back system for about 3 months and have just started getting this code (over the last couple of weeks).

My car also seems to hold back in 3rd and 4th and then has speradic times where it only boosts to 6 psi!!!!!

I've reset it via vag com a few times now but it keeps coming back.

Did your phase 2 map improve the 3rd & 4th thing and get rid of the code? As I understand they map out the second sensor.

Help appreciated mate.

Cheers

Lee

If your going Stage 2 with Revo or CC you can get that sensor mapped out. In which case you won't need the spacer :). On my exhaust for some reason the 2nd port is blanked off, although the sensor is still fitted
CC mapped it out though with Stage 2 after my CEL kept coming on.
