Surely if it needed a catch tank to solve the problem, the problem would have existed for the last 150,000 miles for me... It's got to be something wearing.. and it seems a fair few 1.8t owners with some miles on them are getting the same issues.

mines done 140k, i think it is down to wear of engine components and the engine breathes more.

catch tank fitted today :D

took you long enough :cartman:

nice mate.

I emptied mine for the first time last weekend, after about 500km (3 weeks I think).

shocking what comes out, and would usually go into the TIP, airfilter and intake!!

nice mat, looks good; stealth looking. I use the same hose as that as the superflex is soooo expensive.

Used it for my DV to chargepipe as well and put copper bends between it ;)

but what on earth is that fluid in your washer reservoir? Looks like something the hulk/spiderman drank before turning!!

lol

there was, sorted now. The one goin from engine to tank now runs between the coolant tank and the host goin into it, and connected to the right of the catch tank. give a better, non-kinking curve :D

The breather one is still pretty much the same, but connected to the left now. May move it to it goes down the back of the TIP as I've seen Ian_Cupras the other day :D

so far yes. But TBH, not left it on tickover for 10mins or so yet.... .will do a "test" later ;)

Still a bit of oil in the tip near the MAF. Will clean that out later when I go to replce the MAF ;)

EDIT: BTW Pat, I did a compression test. Ran 13bar on them all which is what they said it shoudl run before they started the test ;)
